PEGAS was launched in 2013 as a cooperation between European Energy Exchange (EEX) and Powernext. In the framework of this cooperation, both companies combined their natural gas market activities to create a pan-European gas market.

All business activities of EEX and Powernext on the European natural gas markets are operated by Powernext under the brand PEGAS. Members benefit from one common gas trading platform with access to spot and derivatives products for the Austrian, Belgian, British, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German and Italian market areas. Spread products between these market areas can be traded on the same platform.

Deutsche Börse Market Data + Services is the exclusive licensor of PEGAS real-time market data.
